Gender mainstreaming in social policies has been started and prosecuted by woman movement in Turkey since early nineties. As part of woman movement KADAV took an active part in this struggle from the very first years of its establishment. Women in Kadav, supported the campaigns for the amendments in favor of gender equality in Family Low, Turkish Criminal Law, Civil Code, and Social Security reform. They also take role in implementation of first legislation to prevent and protect GBV. In 2012, Kadav members actively participated the advocacy activity for the Law No. 6284 on the Protection of Family and Prevention of Violence against Women and ratification of European Council İstanbul Convention.

KADAV is an active member of Women’s Assembly of Shelters and Counseling Centers, The Women Against Male Dominance and Sexism in The Unions, Women’s Platform on the Civil Code, Platform on the Turkish Penal Code, Platform for Urgent Action Against Femicide, İstanbul Convention Women’s Monitoring Platform-Turkey, Women and LGBTI Prisoners Solidarity Network, Civil Society For Disasters Platform and Group for Solidarity With Migrant Women İn Turkey. It also takes part in UN Council of Women Status, European Women’s Lobby- Turkey.

Besides these, KADAV pioneered the establishment of Women Without Borders Network (Solidarity group with migrant women 2012) Women’s Labor and Employment Platform (2007). It has been carrying on secretariat of KEİG since its establishment.
